Our judges

Nico Perrin, France
Nicolas Perrin—known to most simply as ”Nico”—is a respected international horse trainer and judge from France. Now 45 years old, Nico has been dedicated to the world of horses since 1999, when he chose to leave his academic path of becoming a Spanish teacher to fully pursue his passion for training.
His early professional experience began in Italy, where he worked as an assistant trainer under the guidance of American professional Linda Long—whom he fondly refers to as his ”adopted mom.” After four formative years there, Nico returned to France to build his own training facility. He later furthered his expertise in the United States, working as an assistant trainer in Texas for Mark Shaffer.
Nico’s career achievements include becoming a 17-time European Champion and earning the title of Reserve World Champion at the 2019 Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) World Show. Inspired by Linda Long—an accomplished American judge—Nico became an ApHC judge himself in 2010. Since then, he has expanded his credentials to include European judging licenses for AQHA, APHA, and NSBA.
Since 2015, Nico has served annually as a ring steward at the ApHC National, Youth World, and World Shows. He has also worked as a ring steward for the APHA World Show in both 2016 and 2017. In addition to judging and stewarding, he is honored to contribute as a scribe for the World Show in the United States—work that he finds both fulfilling and meaningful.
Nico first judged in the U.S. at this very venue in 2018, an experience he thoroughly enjoyed and one that makes his return particularly special. That same year, he also judged in Mexico, and most recently, in 2022, he brought his expertise to Australia.
Driven by a deep passion for the sport, Nico intends to continue judging as long as he is invited to do so—wherever in the world the opportunity takes him. He finds great joy in traveling, discovering new places, and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds through their shared love of horses.
He extends his best wishes to all participants and sincere thanks for the trust placed in him.

Magdalena Szarszewska, Poland
Magdalena Szarszewska’s life has always revolved around horses. Her passion began in childhood — riding, grooming, or simply spending hours watching horses shaped who she is today. What started as a youthful fascination evolved into a lifelong profession.
Since 2008, Magdalena has worked as a professional equine physiotherapist. Between 2017 and 2019, she served as a board member of the FEI Reining Committee. Her involvement in the horse show world is extensive, with experience as a scribe, show manager, and show steward (NRHA until 2019, AQHA, NSBA). She is also a licensed judge with credentials from ECAHO, NRHA (until 2018), FEI, AQHA, APHA, NSBA, and PZJ.
In addition to her judging roles, Magdalena holds the titles of APHA and AQHA Professional Horsewoman. She has judged a wide range of events, from small regional shows to prestigious National and European Championships.
She is looking forward to meeting everyone at NSBA Classics!

✅ New Show Format – 3 Days
To make the event financially sustainable due to lower entry numbers than expected, we’ve made the decision to shorten the show to three days: Friday through Sunday (August 8–10), with arrival on Thursday, August 7.
Canceling the show was never an option we wanted to consider — so this is our way of ensuring the show goes on, with the same quality and experience you’ve come to expect.
A revised showbill for the new three-day format is now available above.
❌ Summer Flirt Canceled
Unfortunately, Summer Flirt 2025 has been canceled.
But the good news is: the second go of “The Challenge” Cup Classes will now take place at NSBA Classics instead! Each cup class will be run concurrently with its corresponding Open Allbreed class.
🌟 Good News – No Late Fees This Week!
To support you in this transition and make entries easier, we’re waiving the late fee through July 21th. If you haven’t entered yet, now is the time!
Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support for NSBA Scandinavia and our growing community. We can’t wait to see you at Grevagården in August!
